About Federal Investigation Agency
The Federal Investigation Agency, owned by the Interior Ministry of Pakistan, covers border control, criminal investigation, counterintelligence, and security operations with jurisdiction over terrorism, espionage, federal crimes, smuggling as well as infringement, and other specific crimes. Pakistan’s Constitution codified the institution in 1974 under the Department of Interior. International operations of the FIA are also conducted in close coordination and cooperation with Interpol. The agency has several branch and field offices located in major cities in Pakistan, with its headquarters in Islamabad.
